Parvati + John : Boulder, Colorado

Parvati + John Wedding-360.jpg

There are so many wedding traditions in this world. From tossing a bouquet, to crushing a glass, to jumping over a broom - all are purely vehicles to celebrate a wonderful and sacred union between two people. However, so often we get caught up in these traditions and the specifics of the "wedding" and put less emphasis on the actual marriage.

Parvati and John's celebration had plenty of traditions from all ends of the earth, but there was never a moment where their marriage was not the most important part of the plan. Their day was full of light, peace, and an overwhelming calm. They embraced every moment with their family and closest friends. They didn't notice the ticking of the clock and they took their time walking hand in hand through the mountains, taking in their first moments as husband and wife. They drank wine and let anyone who wanted to toast to their happiness or reminisce about good times. Every person who was there was invited out of pure love, not obligation. Each minute was an hour - and in the best way.

Parvati gave herself to John as she and her father walked to the song "There is a Light," and the mantra reverberated throughout the entire day. Give yourself to your inner light and let it always stay bright. Give it to others and let it resonate in all that you do and all whom you love.
